Vaastu and Health

Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely an absence of disease or infirmity.

Our cosmos is made up of five basic elements i.e.  – the Earth, Sky, Water, Fire and the Air.

Any imbalance in these elements brings about a discomfort outside and within the human the body. We may not feel this immediately but the change in the systems of the body makes us realize that something is wrong. Some people try to bring equality or balance by objective means like Meditation, Reiki, Pranik-Healing, Kundalini-Awakening  etc. This helps to accelerate the movement the energy and this brings out quick results.

By following the principles of Vaastu also, laid down by the ancient Indian scholars, we try to do away with negative energy, mental agony and achieve mental peace. During our past one decade of implementing the Vaastu remedies, numerous health problems have been mitigated from the lives of people around the globe since human energy is affected by many things including lighting, colours, plants, the placement of furniture, and very much, by the shape and size of a building and the materials which are used.

People who work in buildings designed on Vaastu principles find that they think more clearly and creatively, make better decisions, feel happier and healthier, feel more alert and refreshed throughout the day, experience less stress and greater peace of mind, have improved communication at all levels, have enhanced problem solving abilities, improve working performance and improve their financial abilities and prospects.

Vaastu provides a set of principles for the general layout, furniture placement and interior decor of the built environment - including landscaping, gardens, car parks, storage facilities etc. These principles produce a balancing and harmonizing affect on the environment and its inhabitants.

Few basic rules that are stated in the ancient books of Vaastu are listed below for ensuring good health:

1.    Never keep your head toward north while sleeping, prefer keeping it towards south or east only, to achieve peaceful and restful sleep for healthy life.

2.    Face either North or east while working, studying or negotiating with  clients. It helps increase sharp memory resulting in ability to take proper and faster decisions at right time.

3.    Avoid facing South/ South-West while cooking, eating or drinking. Your face should preferably be towards East/West for better taste, digestion & healthy body. Having door at the back while cooking may lead to back-ache, pain in the legs, shoulders and even cervical.

4.    While worshipping for better concentration & Devotion your face should be towards East or West.

5.    The colour of the roof and the walls should never be same as it leads to irritation and short temperament.

6.    Keep Tulsi in house to purify the air. Avoid Cactus, Rubber plants, Milky plants and Bonsai plants in the house as they add to your tension, illness and stunted growth of the children.

7.    Never sit or sleep under a beam, which many cause depression, headache or loss of memory.

8.    Pregnant ladies should not sleep in northeast room to avoid any miscarriage or abortion.

9.     To avoid any health problem related to Heart & Brain, prefer wooden beds without box and avoid sleeping on metal beds.

10.  An area which is consistently damp or smells of dampness without any apparent cause is an area of ‘negative energy’. As per vaastu one should not build or stay in a structure where there is dampness all the time.

11.  Is there any tree facing your main door or window? This could result in poor health of family members. Place a convex mirror on the outer wall facing that tree to minimize its effect.

12.  To minimize disorders related to heart and nervous system, avoid usage of the space below the staircase for bathroom, toilet, pantry/invertor or even for closed store.

13.  Construction of stairs, toilet or kitchen in North-East corner of the property may lead to cancer and brain related disorders. It specially retards the growth of small children in the family.

14.  Swimming pools or any other underground water bodies should be constructed in North, East or North-East of the plot. Having them in South-East may cause trouble to male child’s or wife of the owner.

15.  To enhance healing powers of the body or faster recovery from ill-health one should prefer to stay in a room/ house/ hospital with a roof of pyramid structure.

16.  Many diseases such as arthritis, swelling in the joints, pain in the knees, ailments of the eyes, boil, wound, mental disorders, piles, diabetes, blood-pressure, nasal congestion, were cured by the use of pyramid energized water and pyramid assemblies.

17.  If one has a problem of sleeplessness, it is kept under the pillow. It helps one to sleep soundly and feel refreshed. If it is used for young children, it not only helps them to relax but it also helps to improve the memory and widen the scope of their minds.

Studies have shown that good health and vaastu are closely related. It is an established fact that earth has a magnetic field. Some of the radiation from the earth is beneficial while some are hazardous. The ancient science of Vaastu is based on realistic energy effects, be it solar, magnetic, radiation or sound energy in the cosmos.

If we adopt the principles of Vaastu in our residence and work place, these immense energies of Almighty God begin to support us, all our objectives are fulfilled in easy, spontaneous and effortless manner; making our sweet life sweater and bitter less bitter.

Motivation

INSPIRATION

If we look around ourselves, we will find many things inspiring us in unique and different ways to accomplish our tasks beautifully and successfully.

Generally, people work according to their capabilities. However, when someone displays his true capabilities by doing something special or difficult or exceeds other’s expectations by working beyond one’s imaginations-he becomes an inspiration for others. The person is asked about the secrets and sources of his inspiration because he did something different. It is natural that he might have been inspired from somewhere. Thus, there is an inspiration for each and every task.

“Inspiration is the key that makes someone successful, but only those who want to succed.”

In today’s world, the youth is being lured and misguided by films, T.V.serials and is choosing the wrong directions in life. Recently, two young men abducted a businessman’s son and extorted him for ransom. On being refused the money, they killed the boy. When the police caught them, they said that they got the idea from a popular movie.

Films and popular culture inspire us in different ways. But one has to be careful as to the kind of inspiration he chooses, and needs.

Inspiration is a medicine that works like an appetizer. When someone consumes it, he becomes passionate to achieve the goals he has set.

Only the right medicines should be consumed. Meaning, the inspiration that shows us the right path should be chosen carefully, and chosen well.

If you keep on finding other’s qualities you will become so.

CHANGE YOUR DESTINY FOR THE BETTER

Vaastu/Feng-Shui- An Effective Source of Bliss

Vaastu Shastra is one of the most valuable treasures of ancient Indian heritage. Vaastu is a science, which deals with the laws of nature and ensures living in harmony with this force of Almighty. It is a universal subject, which would benefit each of us irrespective of caste, creed, sex, colour and nationality. The bylaws of Vaastu relate a human being with the house and with the environment. A good and a healthy environment designed & decorated as per Vaastu would ensure healthy mind in a healthy body.

Vaastu as practiced in China, Japan, Singapore, Hongkong, Malaysia and many other Asian countries is known as Feng-Shui; the art of balancing energies through Interior Decoration for getting best out of Nature. This wonderful science is gradually spreading to the various parts of the Globe including Europe, Canada, U.S.A.,Australia & even Gulf countries.

Vaastu means dwelling of Humans & Gods in the original Sanskrit Literature. Since the whole universe is consisting of five elements namely earth, water, fire, air and space, the tenants of Vaastu try to create balance in these and allow us to evoke the finer forces of nature for our upliftment, enabling us to lead a healthier, wealthier & happier life.

All the guidelines of Vaastu/Feng-Shui & Pyramid Power are scientific, logical, practical and supported by universal facts. The magnetic energy of the Earth and Solar energy are best tapped by adopting the basics of these sciences. Since Sun is the major cosmic entity and we live on earth; which nourishes all being like a mother, they are the treasure of all comforts and pleasure. The subtle energy in natural and built environment  affect human beings have also been verified and appreciated by those who did not believe in them initially. Thus there is a great need for the architects and Vaastu Experts to coordinate; since an architect can build an aesthetically posh house but can’t assure happy life to the people living in that house, whereas Vaastu-science assures peace, prosperity and progress to the owner as also the inmates.

Kitchen : cooking with energy

Kitchen is the most important room in a house since it affects the Health & Wealth of the whole family.

According to Vaastu, the best place for a kitchen is the South-East corner, as South-East is supposed to be the place of Fire God. From the practical & scientific point of view as well, it is considered to be the proper place for a kitchen as beneficial infra-red rays come from East and ultraviolet rays, which are harmful for germs like bactereia, virus etc, come from South. The other option especially for west or north facing houses recommended by Vaastu is the North-West area, being the air zone which is vital for burning activity. The other acceptable directions can be East & South Zone  also so as to prevent the smoke and cooking Fumes from flowing into the living / working area & affecting the health of the inmates.

Direction for Cooking

For good taste, as also for ensuring proper health of the family especially ladies, the cooking hobs should be ideally positioned in such a way that one is  facing east while  preparing food. In case of a kitchen placed in North-West corner of the house, one can face west also while cooking. Cooking while facing Northeast/North results into heavy expenditure, difference of opinion & mental unrest. In many situations the problems of cervical, pain in the shoulders have been cured simply by avoiding cooking facing South/Southwest. Another important advice to ensure good health especially to reduce backaches & pain in the legs is to avoid a door at the back while cooking or fix a convex mirror in front to reflect the door area.

Five elements in kitchen

The sink should be placed in the Northeast (Water element) or North or East, the gas stove and other electric appliances are to be placed in the Southeast(Fire element) or Northwest(Air zone). Heavy and full height cabinets are to be built in the Southwest zone (Earth element). The Centre (Space element), North and East of the kitchen should be kept open. The fridge and the storage cupboards are best arranged along the southern and western walls.

Colours

The best colours recommended in Vaastu for the kitchen are all shades of yellow, off- white or cream colours . Colours like blue and black should be totally avoided. The roof must always be painted white.

Bedroom

Bedroom is supposed to be a place for romance and relaxation. Vaastu says that the bedroom should be as far away from North and East direction as possible. The more you are closer to South and West, more you will find peace and comfort. That is why Southwest or south area is best suited for a master bedroom.

Never place your head towards North while sleeping since like poles repel each other. It should be towards South, as it ensures good health and peaceful sleep (since our head being North Pole is attracted by earth’s South Pole). Placing your head in East or West is also beneficial depending upon the location of doors, window & toilets. Maximum furniture should be kept on South and West side of the bedroom.

Preferably, there should not be any reflective surface in the bedroom to ensure harmonious family life & better health. In case, there is no other option but to have a mirror/T.V/Computer etc, place it in such a way that it does not reflect the bed or you can cover the mirror with cloth before going to sleep.

Ideal colours for bedroom walls are Off-white, light yellow, light green, or peach. Avoid dark & fluorescent shades.

Bathroom : cleanse & rejuvenate

The bathroom or toilet adjacent to the Southeast corner in the East direction is very useful as the morning Sunrays coming from East side falls on our body & kills the germs. It can also be constructed in the West or North of Northwest or in the South directions, leaving the Northeast & the Southwest corners. The seat should be preferably placed on North-South axis. Bathroom should not be placed in the Northeast or Southwest zone of the bedroom. The washbasin can be placed in the Northern or Eastern area. The geyser can be placed in the Southeastern, South or East or Northwest zone of the bathroom.

As per Mayamata, an ancient text, the bathroom should be beautiful, free from dirt, hair, and decorated with flowers, plants & fragrant substances. The Colours should be light, refreshing such as light blue, green, off-white etc.  A lot of natural light, air & ventilation is the basic requirement of this part of the house.

Drawing room / Living room

Living Rooms are the areas where guests are entertained in the first instance, the décor of this room reflecting to greater extent the status of the occupants.

Keeping in view the utility of such room, it will be preferable to locate the areas  in Mid East or Mid West as the kitchen in Northwest or Southeast will be able to serve these rooms comfortably.  For North/Northwest facing houses, it can be located in Northwest and Northeast also. For South facing houses, living room can be located in Southeast as well. In living room, doors in the East and North are the first choice. It must not have any door on the Southwest side. Maximum furniture, showcases, heavy articles should be placed in the Southwest, South or West zone. T.V. should be in the Southeast zone or either in the South or West. It should not be in the Northeast or Southwest corners. The furniture of the living room should be square or rectangular but not round, triangular, oval shapes or hexagonal. The Portraits/Statues of cruel animals, weeping and nude children/women, scenes from war should not be displayed as they create disharmony amongst the family members.

Children’s /Study room

Vaastu suggests some simple rules to be followed for the prosperity of your child. The placement as per direction recommended by vaastu for an ideal children room are North-East, North and East.. While studying child should face East, North or West to get maximum benefit of Solar and Magnetic energy. As a result it will increases memory and grasping power as well as concentration. Light facing in upward direction like bracket light or wall mounting light is recommended in the study room as it lifts the energy in the evening hours. The bed can be placed in Southwest, South or West corner. The main door/window to this room should not be exactly behind the student otherwise it will disturb concentration and can arouse the feeling of insecurity. If the children are small, the interiors can be bright and enlightening.

Balconies

Balconies are provided at upper floors for multipurpose uses like sitting, drying up clothes or placing small plants or flower pots.  As a general rule the balconies provided in Northeast, North, East, West of Northwest and South of Southeast of the building will bring happiness, stability & good health where as structure in Southwest, East of Southeast and North of Northwest should be avoided.

Conclusion

Along with construction, the internal decoration in the house, office, shop or factory is equally important. IF SETTING OF THINGS ARE ACCORDING TO PRINCIPLES OF VAASTU/FENG-SHUI, THE THOUGHTS, SPEECH & ACTION ARE SUPPORTED BY NATURE AND LEAD TO HEALTH, WEALTH AND HAPPINESS. In other words, we can say that the Vaastu/Feng-Shui can change our destiny for the better.

Sweden Visit – 31st August to 8th September

It was a pleasant & memorable trip/ visit between 31st August to 8th September to this scavendian country, known for its many contradictory features.

CONTRIBUTION OF NATURE IN PHENOMENAL GROWTH OF SWEDEN:

Sweden Lobby hard for International agreements about the environment. The country trust children to handle difficult subjects and emotions. Yet the journey from a poor agrarian society started less than a century ago.

Over half of Sweden’s area consists of forests, 11 percent of mountains and about 9 percent of rivers and lakes. The capital Stockholm is also the most populous city ahead of Gothenburg, Malmo and Uppsala. A city of striking beauty spread across fourteen islands in Lake Malaren.

Excellent Feng Shui

An island as per Vaastu & Feng Shui attracts wealth from all around. The fort of Gamalistan is known for the shelter provided by the then King to the Pirates who used to attack the passing ships and collect the wealth in the fort at Stockholm.

Being almost on top of the globe(the cosmic energy grid), Sweden after separating from Norway in 1905 opted to remain neutral to both the groups in world war II; which gave them immense/rare opportunity to sell the arms & ammunitions to both and amass huge wealth.

Seen to population, roughly 9.3 million, Sweden is one of the smaller European nations but has been without population decrease since 1880. Sweden has one of the highest child birth rates in Europe and a fairly high immigration rate as well, with roughly 200 nationalities represented. Almost a fifth of the population has roots in other countries with an ongoing migration of the people in both directions. About 85 percent of its population lives in urban areas with average age of 85 years, the maximum in the world.

Sweden is governed by parliamentary democracy and constitutional monarchy. Though Swedes are a mainly secularized people, 70 percent of the populations are still members of the Church of Sweden. It has some of the strictest laws in the world against human trafficking, prostitution and drugs.

Swedes ought to give thanks to the Gulf Stream everyday; after all, the misconception that polar bears roam the Swedish landscape could actually be true were it not for this warm Atlantic current that save the inhabitants from freezing. Sweden is also sheltered from cooler and moister Atlantic winds by the mountains to its west.

Above the Arctic Circle the sun does not set for a month or two around summer solstice. December 21 has 6 hours of daylight whereas 21 June has 18 hrs of the same. Further south the few hours of darkness provided are more like an afterglow. The opposite is true for the winter months.

Sweden export a lot of machinery, electronics and telecommunications products and services, paper, pharmaceuticals, petroleum products, iron and steel. Our imports include electronics and telecommunications products, machinery, foodstuffs, crude oil, textiles and footwear. Although an EU member since 1995, the day to day transactions within the country are still made in Krona (SEK), the local currency.

Nobel’s will

In his last will and testament, Swedish innovator, entrepreneur and industrialist Alfred Nobel (1833-96) decided that the majority of his fortune-accumulated through the registration of 355 patents and the establishment of 90 factories in 20 countries-be set aside for the Nobel Prizes, annual awards to “those who, during the preceding year, shall have conferred the greatest benefit on mankind. “An idea that has since overshadowed his own invention of the dynamite in the 1860s.
